Included with LedgeThe built-in chat uses Codex today. Every app is a plain folder, so Claude Code and other agents can edit it from the terminal.
Ledge comes with weather, radio, chess, a timer, now playing, notes, and blocks. Each one is a folder of React you can open, read, and change. They are also the examples to copy when you build your own.

Open the chat in the notch and say what you want. For example: a build monitor that shows the branch, the elapsed time, and the failing tests, with a stop button. Codex writes the app in its own folder, Ledge reloads it, and it runs in the notch. When you no longer need it, delete the folder.
The chat uses the Codex you already have installed. Ledge never calls a model itself, and the included apps work without any agent.
Get LedgeEverything in Ledge is open source: the Swift shell that draws the notch, the Bun host that runs the apps, the protocol between them, and the seven included apps. Read the code, change it, or fork it.
Every app is a folder with an app.jsx file. Write React, save the file, and native Mac views update in the notch. There is no web view and no menu-bar popover.
export const meta = {

<text content="Hello from the notch" />
</stack>
);
}Ledge is a Mac app that runs small apps in the notch and lets an AI coding agent write new ones for you. Seven apps are included. Ask for another in the built-in chat, or write it yourself in React.
Ledge requires an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 14 or later. It is designed around the MacBook notch.
The built-in chat uses Codex today. Ledge never calls a model itself. It runs the agent installed on your Mac, and Codex access is separate from Ledge. Every app is a plain folder, so Claude Code or any other coding agent can edit it from the terminal, and Ledge reloads the result the same way. The included apps work without any agent.
Yes. Each app has its own folder, and saved changes reload automatically. Ledge seeds the included apps on first launch without overwriting apps you have edited.
Your app files live on your Mac. Individual apps can connect to online services and request Mac permissions. The builder uses Codex, so its data handling also depends on your Codex setup.
Scribe transcription is not available in the current implementation. Support for individual music services is still being verified.
