Privacy Notice
This privacy notice explains how PIER20 Ltd ("PIER20", "we", "us") looks after your personal data when you visit our website at pier20.com (the "site"). It tells you what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it.
It applies whether you are browsing the site or filling in our demo request form.
1. Who we are
PIER20 Ltd is a company incorporated in England and Wales (company number 16556427), whose registered office is at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.
PIER20 Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under registration number ZB936342.
How to contact us. For any privacy question, request, or complaint, email hello@pier20.com or write to us at the registered office above.
2. The personal data we collect
We only collect the personal data we actually need to run the site and respond to enquiries. We do not collect special-category data (health, ethnicity, religious or political beliefs, etc.) or data about criminal convictions.
Data you give us directly — when you submit the demo request form:
- Full name
- Work email
- Company
- Team size (from a set range)
- Message (anything you choose to tell us about what you are trying to solve)
Data collected automatically — when you browse the site:
- Usage data via Google Analytics 4 (GA4): pages viewed, approximate region (country/city derived from IP address), device type, browser, referrer, and a pseudonymous client identifier stored in a cookie. We use this in aggregate to understand how the site is used. See our Cookie Policy for details.
- Security data: Cloudflare Turnstile generates a token to distinguish humans from bots when the demo form is submitted. No biometric data is processed.
3. How we use your data and why (lawful bases)
We rely on the following lawful bases under the UK GDPR:
| Purpose | Data used | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Responding to your demo request and assessing whether we can help | Name, work email, company, team size, message | Legitimate interests — to answer your enquiry and take pre-contractual steps with you |
| Understanding how the site is used (analytics) | GA4 usage data | Consent — set only if you accept analytics via our cookie banner |
| Sending you our newsletter (when launched) | Work email | Consent — only if you opt in; you can unsubscribe at any time |
| Keeping the site secure and preventing abuse | Turnstile tokens, server logs | Legitimate interests — to protect the site and our infrastructure |
We do not use your personal data to train foundation or generative AI models, and we do not sell your data.
4. Who we share your data with
We use a small number of third-party processors to operate the site. They only process data on our instructions and under written contract:
| Processor | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Formspark | Receiving demo-form submissions | United States |
| Google LLC (Google Analytics 4) | Aggregate website analytics (set only after consent) | United States (data stored in the US) |
| Cloudflare | Bot protection for the demo form (Turnstile) | United States / global edge |
When we launch the newsletter, we will add an email-service provider to this list and update this notice.
Professional advisers and authorities. We may share data with our legal, accounting, and tax advisers, and with regulators or law-enforcement bodies where we are legally required to.
We do not share your data with any other third parties for their own purposes.
5. International transfers
Formspark, Google, and Cloudflare are based outside the UK/EEA (in the United States). Where your data is transferred internationally, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (with the UK Addendum), together with the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where a provider is certified under it. You can contact us at hello@pier20.com for more detail on the specific safeguards.
6. How long we keep your data
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Demo-form submissions | 12 months from submission (we delete if you ask us to, or sooner if no longer needed) |
| GA4 raw usage data | Held by Google according to its retention settings; we use aggregated reports |
| Server / security logs | 6 months, then deleted |
| Newsletter subscribers (when launched) | Until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 30 days |
You can ask us to delete your data earlier (see Your rights below).
7. Data security
We apply industry-standard measures: TLS encryption in transit, access controls, and minimal access on a need-to-know basis. Our processors apply equivalent standards. We have procedures to detect, contain, and, where legally required, notify you and the ICO of any personal-data breach.
8. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — ask what data we hold about you and receive a copy.
- Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data in certain circumstances.
- Restriction — ask us to limit processing while a dispute is resolved.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests (including for direct marketing, which you can always stop).
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format and reuse it elsewhere, where applicable.
- Withdraw consent — for anything that relies on your consent (analytics, newsletter), at any time.
To exercise any right, email hello@pier20.com. We respond within one month (we may extend by two months for complex requests and will tell you why). We do not charge a fee, though we may refuse clearly unfounded or excessive requests.
9. Cookies
The site uses a small number of cookies for analytics. See our separate Cookie Policy for the full list and how to control them.
10. Children
The site is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, please contact hello@pier20.com so we can delete it.
11. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
