Index GDP and GDPC1 to 100 at the first shared quarterNominal GDP (GDP, current dollars) and real GDP (GDPC1, chained 2017 dollars) rebased to 100 at the first shared observation. The two lines cannot be compared on raw dollar values because one is in current dollars and the other in chained dollars; indexing isolates the volume vs price split.
